Almost done with the first layer (1/16")... 1 more layer to go(1/16), a couple small patch jobs on the rockers (22 ga), and good to go!
Don’t think I’ll quite finish by Tuesday, when paint prep begins, so I’ll have to pause until that’s done (3 weeks) :/ so close I can taste it... I will be a car driver again soon.

Yah, it’s been... time consuming. But rewarding. I’m working with a 110V 90A harbor freight welder, so I’ve gotta lay a little thick then grind down. It’ll be far stronger than the rusted out hulk of crap it was :)
Speaking of, noticed your username. I have two Yamaha xj 750 frames and motors, one in bike where the starter clutch stopped working, the other out, seized. I’m planning on taking the motor out to swap the starter clutch ($2 parts, 18 hrs labor) and making a 2 in front three wheeler out of the spare frame I have. Now that I can weld...

That sounds like a neat project! I’m planning something similar but with an XL600R or similar and traditional trike layout. I want it street legal and factory looking.

Virginia has a self inspect option for classics so.... I guess it’d be street legal, if I say it is.... >:)

A few have done it but got pulled over frequently. Starting with an already street legal frame helps.
